The global web hosting, hosted services and hosted exchange provider MyHosting.com, has just announced that they have expanded their virtual private server hosting options. These now include new packages in its Rochester, New York Data Center that runs on Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.6.
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.6, released not too long ago, allows for a number of important and useful upgrades, the Disk I/O updates being the most important ones. Through this update, myhosting.com can now enhance their Parallels Virtuozzo VPS plans even further by offering new services. This means they can take full advantage of the updated Virtuozzo platform in both their new Rochester, New York Data Center, as well as their Toronto Data Center.
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.6 is currently one of the best server virtualization platforms. In essence, it is a replacement for the traditional hypervisor with a virtual server operating system. Thus, it gives users more control over the device while it also allows myhosting.com to maximize the resources of their physical servers. Or as Darish Rajanayagam, Director of Operations at myhosting.com, put it, “Creating new plans to support PVC 4.6 and CentOS and Debian Linux allows us to dramatically improve our hosting services. By leveraging the features included in Virtuozzo for Linux, we are able to maximize the potential of our physical devices, fitting more virtual machines in each server. The upgrade also allows us to upgrade our server management and monitoring services, making it easier to meet customer needs with a powerful VPS plan.”
Furthermore, the ability to monitor and enforce Disk I/O operations is now efficiently provided by the new Disk I/O features of Virtuozzo Containers. This will improve overall I/O performance, since it ensures that the operations of one container do not impact the performance of other containers. The upgrade therefore means that customers will be able to avail themselves of VPS plans with much better performance, as well as take advantage of more powerful resources.
As Tim Attwood, Product Manager said, “The upgrade to Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.6 lets us provide customers with the most powerful Linux VPS plans possible. Our Virtuozzo VPS Hosting plans also support the Virtuozzo Power Panel technology. With Power Panel, our VPS users can make extensive changes to the core attributes of their VPS plans, such as adjusting the distribution of system resources on the virtual device, reboot, shut down and perform other management tasks on the server without the assistance of a technician.”
